    Both the SPturbo upper and lower main bearings have oil grooves to gain the oil feeding into the oil holes on your crankshaft journal. The awesome improvement can increase the oil circulation to the conrod bearing that works under more severe conditions than the main bearing. Engine troubles are mainly caused by damage in connecting rod bearings, such as the relentless hard vibrations, the bearing seizing by the poor oil circulation and so on. Increasing the oil pressure and quantity to improve the oil feeding is a general way to prevent the damage. One of the oil holes on the crankshaft journal is a 180-degree contract to the other. The genuine bearing has only one oil groove in the upper side, it means that just one of the holes can supply the oil to the crankshaft journal at all times. In contrast to the genuine, the oil can circulate inside SPturbo main bearings because both of our upper and lower bearings have grooves that are allowed to send the oil pressure to the crank rod journal holes for full 360 rotation.     The Schimmel Performance 12V VR6 Oil Filter Housing is the best upgrade available to protect the investment under your hood. It is designed to be used with the most common spin on oil filter thread 13/16-16”, allowing you to choose from over 20 different brands spin on filters including Bosch, Amsoil, Mobil1, Fram, Wix, ect. The oil filter housing comes with one high quality Bosch oil filter that has an anti-drainback valve. VR6 oem canister oil filter allows oil to drain out of the filter through the oil pump when the engine is stopped. When the engine is started next, oil must refill the filter before full oil pressure reaches the engine. The anti-drainback valve, included in most spin on oil filters, prevents oil from draining out of the filter. This anti-drainback valve is actually a rubber flap that covers the inside of the inlet holes of the filter. When the oil pump starts pumping oil, the pressure will unseat the flap. The purpose of this valve is to keep the oil filter filled at all times, so when the engine is started there will be an almost instantaneous supply of oil to the engine. Schimmel Performance oil filter housing has a -4AN clean oil port. It is used to feed your turbo with fresh filtered oil and get proper oil pressure sample after the oil filter. The OEM oil filter housing has three ports for sensors on top. All of these ports are unfiltered oil from pan and are before the filter. If using any of the ports for turbo oil feed, you are sending dirty oil to your turbo bearings which will drastically reduce its life and performance. Not only does the SP oil filter housing protect your engine, it makes changing your oil a much simpler task.   20. MCT- VR6 Manual Cam Chain Tensioner

    The Schimmel Performance MCT (Manual Chain Tensioner) is designed to replace the oem hydraulic cam chain tensioner. A must for high performance vr6 engines. Hydraulic tensioners have a tendency to put too much tension on the chain guide under high rpm/high oil pressure conditions, resulting in loss of power and premature wear of the cam chain guides. The key is the cam chain should only have the slack taken out, not actually have tension on it. Perfect adjustment would be zero pressure/no play. During lower engine operations such as gear shifts and startups the oem hydraulic tensioner does not provide enough pressure to hold chain and guide rail in proper position especially with high lift cams and hd valve springs. Hydraulic tensioners are also prone to fail at anytime in racing conditions causing bent valves or more severe engine damaged. Installing the MCT has no down sides, and a positive of being easier on the cam chain and guides. Not relining on oil pressure to hold chain with no slack, and has zero possibility of catastrophic failure. Timing chain do not stretch like a timing belt. They increase in length that this is due to wear at the pivoting pins and bushes, not from actual stretching of the metal. OEM hydraulic tensioners will always be applying pressure to the cam chain guides - always. It's always pushing in biased on oil pressure, and the chain, trying to "get one more click" on cam sprocket, and keep the chain tight. That constant pressure robs HP, creates heat and is definitely a big factor in chain and guide wear. The MCT keeps engine in time with less chain, sprockets and guide wear by not holding tension on chain. In racing applications you do not want oil pressure to control the mechanical timing of the engine at anytime. The MCT is made from 304 Stainless steel for a lifetime of use.
